Student Work Highlights: Safe Infant Sleep Handout from Taylor

Student Work Highlights is a series that showcases projects from students in our program, highlighting creativity, skill, and academic excellence. Our students take pride in their work, as shown with Taylor’s handout on safe infant sleep. She writes: “As a student whose greatest passions in life are caring for children and healthcare, I see the enormous amount of contradictions and confusing recommendations among both the literature and from my personal experiences with caregivers for best practices with new babies. While studying maternal and infant health at NC State, I found an opportunity to take a small part in dismantling some of the myths regarding safe infant sleep and nighttime feeding practices, one of the ‘hot topics’ of debate in society. I hope to use the knowledge and facts I uncovered here throughout my future career as a nurse and lactation consultant.”
